In May 2011 we were able to complete the purchase of the former home of Maharishi University of Enlightenment and the Mother Divine Program at Heavenly Mountain in North Carolina. We deeply thank all our donors for making this possible!
Many of you have been asking about our progress in renovating this property, and we wanted to update you. The renovations have been in progress since last May and are moving along well. A skilled and dedicated team is carrying out the project.
The first and immediate need was to make sure that all the buildings were properly winterized, which included putting the boilers into service, preventing moisture from entering the buildings, and checking, repairing, and upgrading all the systems (fire alarms, sprinklers, etc.). Water damage was repaired and the roofs have been fixed. Now that spring is here, more of the structural repairs that were needed are being done, and work has also been started on the interior spaces of the big yellow building to upgrade and repair the suites and common areas.
